AUDIO: I saw the person who fired the shots – Yamoah Ponkoh

A bigwig of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Afrifa Yamoah Ponkoh, has revealed he saw the person who fired shots at the Ashanti Regional NDC party office which led to the death of one person.

The incident occurred while a meeting between the National Chairman, the General Secretary, a Deputy General Secretary and the Regional Executive Committee was on-going.

 

Some gun-wielding men attacked a gathering outside the party’s regional office, shot and sped off, leaving one person dead and another injured.

Speaking on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen show, Yamoah Ponkoh, said he went to meet a calm environment prior to the incident and even though the party was an open space where anybody could just walk in, the perpetrators needed to be fished out.

 

“We should leave the police to carry out investigations based on their intelligence work,” he urged
