Audio: Family of slain NDC activist receiving death threats

The family of the NDC activist who was shot dead at the party regional office in Kumasi Monday says some relatives have since received death threats from unknown persons.

According to the spokesperson of the family, the sister of the deceased has been threatened after sharing photos of the suspects behind her brother’s murder.

“She received a call from a guy called Gyenyame War Leader who threatened to kill her if he meets her anywhere after she shared photos of him on Facebook,” he said.

“She recorded the call so we will send it to the police for investigations,” he added.

Speaking on Nhyira FM, Habiba, sister of the deceased revealed that her brother had received messages threatening him before the incident yesterday.

“Before he left the house yesterday, he had a call to come to the NDC party office, he left the house and a few hours later we heard that he was shot on his motorbike close to the party office,” he stated.

The shooting incident is said to have occurred during a meeting between the National Chairman, General Secretary, a Deputy General Secretary, and the Regional Executive Committee.

One person who was also shot is said to be in critical condition at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital.
