ASEMA embarks on a shop – locking exercise in Kasoa

Some officials from the Awutu Senya East Municipal Assembly (ASEMA) under the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA), Kasoa, on Wednesday 30th September, 2020 embarked on a shop – locking operation at Kasoa and it environs.

The officials started their operation in the early hours of Wednesday where they put padlocks bearing their name and telephone numbers, on the shops of some customers in the Gomoa Nyanyano Municipality, a suburb of Kasoa.

Most of these customers who were affected, had to call the numbers written on the padlocks in order to have the officials come to their aid on conditions of paying any outstanding amount they are owing, on the spot.

A lot of the customers claim they were not given any prior notice by the ASEMA before this exercise, as most of them call it unlawful while others say it is uncalled for.

Provision shops, TV repairing shops, food vending shops among others who were affected, as well as Digitrust Ghana, an IT solutions center based in Kasoa Nyanyano, had to start work late today due to the exercise, which they claim, is going to affect productivity.
