The manager for late highlife musician Anokye Supremo who died while undergoing a brain tumor surgery in India, has hinted his artiste gave him a message before he was taken to the theatre for the surgery.
The Highlife musician before his demise was known as DL Junior but he decided to change his name to Anokye Supremo after his Godfather Daddy Lumba filed a lawsuit against him for claiming to be his son and also impersonating him to get gifts from people.
Anokye Supremo late last year disclosed he went to the hospital and was told he had a tumor in his head which made him lose his sight in his left eye.
The doctors in Ghana recommended that he has to be taken to India for a surgery but it took a lot of time for some Ghanaians to donate money before he was taken to India.
His manager, Isaac Kobina Zakk, who accompanied him to India disclosed to Ghanaians that Anokye Supremo couldn’t make it days after the surgery was done.
Isaac Kobina Zakk told Onua FM’s Christian Agyei Frimpoong last Thursday that his passport has been seized by the hospital authorities for failing to pay all the hospital bills.
On the Saturday edition of Anigye Mmre, an entertainment talk show on Onua FM, Kobina Zakk disclosed that through some benevolent Ghanaians, he has been able to pay for the hospital bills, mortuary bills and has paid for the airline fare to bring the mortal remains of Anokye Supremo to Ghana.
“I want to disclose to you and your listeners today, before Anokye was taken to the theatre that day, he told me he has a song he wants to sing so I should record and the message in the song says ‘Take your country Ghana, a country that does not offer support’.”
He further added that Anokye told him to give a message to two young musicians if he returns to Ghana.
According to Isaac, he asked Anokye Supremo why he sung that song and he said, he doesn’t know if he will make it after the surgery but he encouraged him that he will definitely make it.
Finally, the deceased’s manager disclosed he will leave India tomorrow Sunday with the body of Anokye Supremo, so Ghanaians should expect them in Accra on Monday afternoon.
