Angry husband guns down in-law over wife’s infidelity

An angry husband has reportedly shot dead his brother in-law over his wife’s infidelity with his brother simply identified as Pius, in Amukpe, Sapele council area of Delta state.

The husband, whose name was still not known as at the time of filing this report, is currently at large.

The incident has also led to the burning of two houses, one belonging to the deceased and the other of the indicted brother.

According to reports, the wife had earlier confessed to having sexual intercourse with her husband’s biological brother, Pius.

In anger, the husband took his gun and went to the late brother in-law’s residence where a confrontation which led to the shooting, ensued between the duo.

The deceased man allegedly challenged his armed in-law, who shot him in his left eye. He was said to have died instantly.

It was further gathered that members of the wife’s family marched down to Pius’ residence and set it ablaze.

However, the fleeing husband’s family retaliated by razing down the late man’s house.

Witnesses claimed that the prompt intervention of security operatives saved the situation from escalating.

Meanwhile, the Delta State Police Command has confirmed the development, stating that a manhunt has begun for the runaway husband.

The Commissioner of Police, Adeyinka Adeleke, who spoke via mobile phone said “I heard of it. That man shot his brother in-law dead at Amukpe in Sapele because they said his wife was sleeping with his brother. And so, they went to burn down his brother’s house and in turn, they burnt down the in-law’s house. We are looking for the man.”
