Ambassador Alhaji Salamu Amadu was honored as the Group CEO of the Year 2024 during the Youth Excellence Awards Africa ceremony held at the Labadi Beach Hotel on September 29, 2024. Other notable personalities, including Kojo Jones, Kobby Kyei, and Dennis Miracle Aboagye, were also recognized at the event.

The Youth Excellence Awards Africa is a prestigious platform that celebrates the exceptional efforts of youth across various sectors. This initiative empowers and recognizes young achievers in categories such as Group CEO of the Year, Health and Wellness, Young Politicians, Banking and Finance, Education, and more, spanning across the globe.

In a post-award interview, Ambassador Salamu Amadu voiced his deep concern about the environmental damage caused by illegal mining in Ghana. “I’m very much concerned about the destruction of our water bodies by those engaged in illegal mining because water is life, and a country like Ghana cannot afford to import water,” he emphasized.

He further called on traditional leaders and authorities to collaborate in the fight against galamsey, which has severely impacted the nation’s natural resources.

Ambassador Amadu’s dedication of his award to Ras Deportee and others underscores his strong support for those advocating for environmental protection and the ongoing battle against illegal mining in Ghana.
