Ambassador Alhaji Salamu Amadu Appointed AFEX Ambassador to Ghana

Accra, Ghana – Ghanaian business magnate and peace advocate, Ambassador Alhaji Salamu Amadu, has been appointed as the official AFEX Ambassador to Ghana by the Board of the Africa Business Forum & Expo (AFEX), one of the continent’s most respected trade and investment platforms. His appointment is a strategic move aimed at strengthening Ghana’s global business visibility and advancing bilateral trade relations, particularly with Türkiye.

Ambassador Amadu’s new role places him at the forefront of international trade diplomacy, where he will serve as the primary link between Ghana’s vibrant private sector and international manufacturers, investors, and policy institutions aligned with AFEX. His appointment underscores his longstanding commitment to economic empowerment, entrepreneurship, and regional cooperation.

“This appointment is more than an honour—it’s a responsibility to bridge opportunities and bring real impact to Ghana’s business landscape,” Ambassador Amadu said. “As AFEX Ambassador to Ghana, I am committed to building strong commercial partnerships that deliver tangible results for our entrepreneurs, youth, and local industries.”

As a Council Member of the Ghana Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI) at both the Greater Accra and National levels, Ambassador Amadu brings a wealth of experience and insight into the needs of the Ghanaian private sector. His appointment by the AFEX Board recognizes his leadership in enterprise development, investment promotion, and his role as a connector between local businesses and the global economy.

AFEX, also known as the Africa Business Forum & Expo, is a premier platform that facilitates trade, investment, and innovation between Africa and its strategic partners. The forum focuses on sectors such as infrastructure, energy, manufacturing, housing, logistics, and digital transformation, encouraging cross-border collaboration and sustainable development.

As AFEX Ambassador to Ghana, Ambassador Amadu will play a crucial role in:

Facilitating trade missions and business matchmaking

Promoting Ghanaian products and services to international buyers and investors

Aligning key sectors with investment-ready partners

Supporting SMEs in scaling up through innovation and market access

“Ghana is rich in ideas, talent, and entrepreneurial spirit,” Amadu said. “But we need stronger platforms to scale our solutions globally. AFEX gives us that leverage, and I will use this opportunity to ensure Ghana’s private sector is not just seen—but heard and valued.”

With his wide network of influence across both public and private sectors, Ambassador Amadu is expected to champion policies and initiatives that create jobs, attract foreign direct investment (FDI), and drive technology and skills transfer. His vision includes fostering inclusive growth by empowering young entrepreneurs and connecting them to global funding and mentorship channels.

“Trade is no longer just about buying and selling,” he emphasized. “It’s about knowledge exchange, innovation, and building ecosystems that work for the people. That’s what I’ll push for in this role.”

Ambassador Alhaji Salamu Amadu is widely regarded for his philanthropic work, especially through the Yaa Salaam Opportunity Center, where he mentors young people and promotes peace, education, and economic inclusion. His role as AFEX Ambassador to Ghana marks another milestone in his mission to position Ghana as a hub for international business, investment, and innovation.
