Akufo-Addo is disappointed leader – Damongo communication officer
A former deputy communication officer for the Damongo constituency, Zion Abdul Rauf has expressed worries about how the people of Damongo including himself felt after listening to the President during his recent visit to the Jakpa Palace.
He states that many of the people wanted to hear from the President speak about how sustainable water supply was coming to Damongo and not the 10 mechanised boreholes the president promised.
Zion continues that, according to water expects,the water table in Damongo is very low that is why especially during the dry season many people suffer to get portable drinking water in the Damongo township.
Damongo is far beyond boreholes,he added. According to Zion,the John Mahama led government was at the verge of addressing the water problem and that he Zion visited the source with some engineers alongside the former DCE Hon.Ali B.Kassim where the problem was to be solved once and for all. We went to a Village called Gbinyallipe around Buachipe with the engineers where the Volta lake passes through from Buipe.
They identified the place,former president Mahama spoke to Yagbonwura prior to election 2016 that the water problem would be a thing of the past with a loan facility coming from Ezim bank that was supposed to be approved by the parliament of Ghana which the then minority refused to be part of passing the agreement.

Boreholes in a Savana region is therefore not the solution to our probkem. A bigger water system that was about to solve the water problem should be considered. Hon. Jinapor,Hon.Diwura,Hon Jegede,Dr Clifford etc should remind Nana Addo that Jerry Rawlings left the legacy of connecting us to the national grid.
JM is still a bigger household name because of Fufulso-Sawla road.Nana should also leave a mark by forgetting mechanised boreholes and solve the water problem since boreholes cant solve our problems. Damongo population is too large to depend on boreholes. A new region without water makes no sense.
