Adamorobe Residents Demonstrate Over Deplorable Road, Declare No Road No Vote

Residents of Adamorobe a peri-urban community in the Akuapem South Municipality of the Eastern Region, on Friday, staged a massive demonstration against the Member of Parliament for the area Osei Bonsu Amoah and government over deteriorating state of their roads.

According to the residents, all roads linking the Adamorobe community are in a very terrible state but successive Governments have failed to construct the road.

The demonstrators displayed placards with inscriptions “NO Road NO Vote” “Where is our MP” Bad Roads Don’t need Votes “amongst others to express their fury over the bad nature of the situation.

The residents contended that all the major roads -Adamorobe to Aburi Adamorobe to Oyibi are in a terrible state.

“We are part of Ghana but our leaders in this country have neglected us  we are appealing to the President Nana Akufo Addo, we beg him we know he doesn’t discriminate so he should come to our aid .our roads are bad, we don’t have a hospital so we are Suffering.”

“This community has been deprived of basic amenities we don’t have good roads, toilet, and hospital as if we are not part of Ghana” the Residents fumed.

Nana Kwame Ayeh, the Gyaasehene for Adamorobe stated that the roads in the community are an alternate route for vehicles that commute from Accra to Kumasi and Koforidua therefore very critical to ease vehicular traffic on the main Aburi to Madina to Accra road.

The demonstrators presented their petition to the Municipal Chief Executive for Akuapem South Frank Aidoo.

The Municipal Chief Executive, Frank Aidoo upon receiving the petition stated, the road has been awarded to a contract assuring that residents will soon see the contractor working on the road.
