A/R: Yellow fever mass immunisation kick-starts on 28th December

Leadership of Ashanti Regional Health Directorate have announced to kick-start public Immunisation on yellow fever from 28th November to 4th December 2018.
The exercise according to authorities is projected to cover 12 districts in Ashanti region alone out of the 65 districts nationwide.
Districts that stand as beneficiaries for the free Immunisation exercise in the region include; Ahafo Ano North, Asante Akim Central, Asante Akyem North,Asante Mampong, Atwima Kwanwoma, Atwima Nwabiagya, Ejura Sekyeredumase, Bosome Freho, Bosomtwe, Sekyere Central, Sekyere East and Sekyere South.
The mass yellow fever Immunisation exercise according authorities will cover only persons within the ages of 10 to 60.
Briefing the media, the Regional Director for Health Dr Emmanuel Tenkorang cautioned that all pregnant women, cancer and HIV patients are excluded from the exercise for health reasons.
The exercise he indicated will be carried out at the various health centers in every district.
