Railway Minister promises Railway for Ahafo region

The member of parliament for Essikado Ketan Constituency who is the Minister for Railways and Devevelopment, Hon. Joe Nana Jobina Akwa Ghartey has delivered a good news to the good people of the newly created Ahafo Region. The minister had a close-door meeting with the first ever Ahafo Regional Minister, Hon. Evans Opoku-Bobie, the six Municipal/District Chief Executives at the Ahafo Regional Coordinating Council.

Hon. Joe Ghartey explained without any iota of hesitation that, the vision of the president of the Republic of Ghana, H. E. Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for creating this new Region is to facilitate total development to improve the lives of the people. In other to improve the lives of the people, Railway will play a major role to make this a reality. He emphasised on a recondite pricket that, Railway is one of the best ways to enhance trading activities.

The Railway lines will be a great turning point for this new Region. The Ahafo Regional Minister and the entourage visited the Paramount Chief of Goaso Tradional Council, Nana Kwasi Bosomprah and his courtiers. The paramount Chief pledged his support for this Railway lines and stated categorically that, the train will help the people of Ahafo to make travelling and exporting farm products from Ahafo to other parts of the Country.

Therefore, all the Traditional leaders are in full support. Nana Bosomprah stressed that, this will also reduce frequent accidents.The hardworking Ahafo Regional Minister, Hon. Evans Opoku-Bobie appreciated the minister for Railways and president Akufo-Addo for such an unprecedented project for the people of Ahafo. He stressed that Ahafo Regional Coordinating Council, MMDCEs and the populace within the Ahafo Region are ever ready to welcome the Railway lines. It is very imperative to note that, the Railway lines will also pave the way for hundreds of people to visit Ahafo and experience the smooth running of the trains. Eventually, the economic activities of Ahafo Region will surely skyrocket astronomically to reduce the burden of the people.
