Ken Agyapong apologizes to Majority leader

Outspoken Member of Parliament for Assin Central has rendered an unqualified apology to Majority leader, Osei Kyei Mensah-Bonsu.

Kennedy Agyapong is reported to have described the House as “useless” for having Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu as its Majority leader.

This was after Hon. Kyei Mensah-Bonsu party who is also the Minister for Parliament Affairs challenged him to back his allegations against ace investigative journalist, Anas Aremeyaw Anas with evidence.

“If you question his methods, does that mean you should launch a personal blistering attack on the person? Stating emphatically that he is corrupt and so on and so forth. We should be careful, especially us as Members of Parliament,” Mr Kyei Mensah-Bonsu said on Accra-based Citi FM.

Ken Agyapong’s conduct angered both members of the Majority and Minority and agreed he be hauled before the Privileges Committee of Parliament for breaching the laws of the House.

But after weeks of reflection, the Assin Central MP admitted her erred by directing his anger towards the Majority leader.

He indicated that his conduct was due to his indiscretion for not cross-checking that indeed the Hon. Kyei Mensah Bonsu insulted him.

“I wish to apologise to Majority leader; I admit I went overboard so he should forgive me” he stated on Oman FM’s political discussion programme Boiling Point Thursday.

However, the Assin Central MP insists Anas is not a credible investigative journalist to be celebrated.

“I still maintain that Anas is not credible; taking me to court will not stop me from exposing his evil deeds” he opined.

Ken Agyapong who claims to have video evidence of the corrupt deeds of Anas said he will show it to the world.
