Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan has praised compatriot and Kayserispor teammate Bernard Mensah for scoring the winner for his side in their 2-1 win over Goztepe in the Turkish Super Lig on Sunday.
Mensah, who is on loan from Spanish giants Athletico Madrid grabbed the winner with two minutes left on the clock.
“When you are proud of your fellow countryman, your young brother who is making a name for himself . You got the winner for us today. Keep working,” Gyan tweeted stating how proud he is of Mensah.
The goal was Mensah’s third league goal of the campaign in 20 super lig appearances.
Kayserispor broke the deadlock when Deniz Turuc set up Tjaronn Chery for the first goal of the game in the 14th minute.
The home side held on to the lead until the 83rd minute when Goztepe found a way back into the game.
Once again, Turuc was involved in the goal, but this time around, he sent the ball into his own net to make the score 1-1.
When all looked headed for the sharing of spoils, Mensah won it all for The Anatolian Star, putting the ball at the back of the net on the assist of Chery two minutes to full-time.
The three points have moved Kayserispor to 11th on the league table, two places above Goztepe.
Asamoah Gyan missed the game due to fitness concerns.
