IT Engineer surrenders after OSP’s wanted notice

An IT engineer, Raphael Mensah, who was declared wanted by the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP), has turned himself in.

The OSP had issued a notice on July 10, 2025, seeking Mr. Mensah for his alleged involvement in a corruption-related offence.

He is accused of aiding and abetting the improper use of public office for personal gain, contrary to sections 20(2) and 179C(a) of the Criminal Offences Act, 1960 (Act 29).

According to the OSP, Mr. Mensah played a central role in a case involving the exploitation of public office for private benefit.

Having been abroad when the notice was issued, Mr. Mensah returned and appeared in court on Tuesday, July 15, 2025. He was granted bail by the presiding judge under strict conditions.

Bail was set at GHS 100,000 with two sureties. He was also directed to surrender his passport to the court and report to the OSP every two weeks pending further investigations.

The case continues as the Special Prosecutor’s office intensifies its efforts to clamp down on corruption and abuse of public office.
