Watch as trotro driver speeds off vehicle with MTTD officer clinging to bonnet

A trotro driver in Kumasi has sparked outrage after a video surfaced showing him driving off with a police officer from the Motor Traffic and Transport Department (MTTD) clinging to the bonnet of his vehicle.

The incident, captured in a video on X on July 11,2025, shows the officer desperately holding on as the vehicle moves through traffic.

The dramatic footage has since gone viral, prompting strong reactions from the public over the growing disregard for law enforcement.

It’s unclear what led to the altercation, but the video suggests the officer had attempted to stop the driver for a traffic-related offence before the situation escalated.

Authorities are yet to issue an official statement, but the Ghana Police Service is expected to investigate the incident and identify the driver involved.

Many social media users have condemned the driver’s actions, describing them as reckless and dangerous. Others have also raised concerns about the safety and enforcement challenges faced by officers on duty.
