Kwahu West Assembly demolishes notorious weed base over recent stabbing

The Kwahu West Municipal Assembly has demolished a popular but controversial structure known as Bobo Shanti, a known weed base and nightlife hub located in Nkawkaw.

The exercise, led by the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Tamimu Alidu, follows the recent fatal stabbing of a man identified as Baba Salau. He was reportedly stabbed by a pub attendant during a dispute over a cigarette.

Authorities say the Bobo Shanti base has long been linked to violent incidents, drug-related activities, and multiple fatalities over the years.

The Assembly described the location as a significant security threat, prompting the swift demolition to prevent further unrest and protect residents.

Officials have also indicated that additional steps will be taken to clamp down on other hotspots contributing to insecurity in the municipality.
