5 Rescued After Serious Collision on Mankessim–Apam Highway

A serious road accident on the Mankessim–Apam highway at Ekumfi Essakyir on Tuesday narrowly avoided turning fatal after five individuals were trapped in a mangled vehicle following a collision.
The crash involved a DAF articulator truck with registration number AS 3215-25 and a Nigerian-registered Hyundai Starex minivan bearing license plate AKN 620XA.
While the exact cause of the accident remains unclear, the impact left the Hyundai extensively damaged, with all five occupants trapped inside. The DAF truck suffered partial front-end damage.
Emergency responders from the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) arrived at the scene and swiftly employed extrication tools to rescue the victims from the wreckage. The injured were then transported to nearby health facilities for medical treatment.
Fortunately, no fatalities were reported.
Fire personnel also cleared debris from the road to restore traffic flow and secured personal belongings recovered from the scene. The items were handed over to the Motor Traffic and Transport Department (MTTD) of the Ghana Police Service for proper handling.
Authorities praised the timely response of emergency services, which played a vital role in preventing further harm and maintaining safety at the crash site.
