Man jailed 7 years for defiling a minor

The Wa Circuit Court has sentenced Mohammed Abudi to seven years in prison for defiling a 13-year-old girl in the Guli community within the Wa Municipality.

This was announced in a statement dated Wednesday, April 30, 2025, signed by ASP Michael Toya of the Public Affairs Directorate of the Upper West Region.

“Abudi was apprehended on Sunday, April 13, 2025, two days after committing the offense on Friday, April 11, 2025.

“The Wa Circuit Court heard the case, where Abudi pleaded guilty. On April 23, 2025, His Lordship Jonathan Avoogo sentenced him to seven years’ imprisonment.

“The Regional Police Command issues a stern warning to potential offenders, urging them to desist from committing such crimes,” the statement noted.
