Mahama leaves for ICT Confab in Nigeria
Former President John Dramani Mahama has left Ghana for Abeokuta, Nigeria to participate in a high-level meeting on the use of Information Communication Technology (ICT) in Africa’s electoral process.
The two-day meeting, which begins on Tuesday, 18 December 2018 is expected to produce a report on the merits and demerits of using ICT in electoral systems in Africa for the sustenance of democracy on the continent.
The meeting will be chaired by former Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo.
Other high-profile dignitaries to participate in the meeting are: Ethiopia’s Hailemariam Desalegn, Professor Amos Sawyerr of Liberia, Raila Odinga of Kenya, Joaquim Chissano of Mozambique, the former Chairpersons of the South African and Nigerian Electoral Commissions among others.
