Sports journalist Dan Kwaku Yeboah has shared his thoughts on why Republican candidate Donald Trump won the 2024 United States of America (USA) presidential election.
According to him, Trump’s competitor, Democrat candidate Kamala Harris, having a background as a black person negatively affected her chances of winning the election.
The former GJA Sports Journalist of the Year disclosed that most Americans are racist and do not like the idea of a black person, who also happens to be a female, ruling over them, hence her losing the election.
Speaking on Peace FM, Kwaku Yeboah asserted that black people in America voting for Trump stunned him due to the Republican candidate’s harsh immigration policies, which may not favor them.
“Obama is the only black man to become president in the US. America and Britain’s racism is silent. They would laugh with you yet they are not for you. In their history, no woman has ever become president, so she should not have contested. The blacks are afraid of Trump’s immigration policies, so I am surprised they voted for him,” he said in Twi.
This comes after former President of the United States, Donald Trump defeated Vice President Kamala Harris in the November 5, 2024, presidential election.
Harris has publicly conceded defeat and congratulated Trump for his victory.
President Joe Biden has also assured the Republican candidate that he would ensure smooth transition to uphold democratic principles.
Per reports, Trump won the election with 301 electoral votes, with Kamala Harris polling 226 electoral votes.
