How Black Stars could line up to face Niger in AFCON 2025 qualifier

Black Stars head coach Otto Addo could make two changes in the lineup for Ghana’s second 2025 AFCON qualifier against Niger today, September 9, 2024.

The change is said to have been inspired by a shift in formation from his regular 4-3-2-1 to a 3-5-2 shape as the Black Stars look to get back to winning ways following a defeat to Angola.

Tariq Lamptey and Elisha Owusu, who started the Angola game, could start from the bench. Ebenezer Annan and Majeed Ashimeru could replace the duo in the lineup today.

Lawrence Ati-Zigi is set to start behind a back three of Alidu Seidu, Abdul Mumin, and Mohammed Salisu.

In midfield, Thomas Partey and Majeed Ashimeru could be the pivot, with Fatawu Issahaku and Ebenezer Annan on the flanks.

Mohammed Kudus could play behind Antoine Semenyo and Jordan Ayew, who would be tasked with leading the attacking line.

The game is scheduled for a 16:00 GMT kickoff at Stade Municipal de Berkane in Morocco.

Here is the expected lineup:

Lawrence Ati-Zigi

Alidu Seidu

Mohammed Salisu

Abdul Mumin

Ebenezer Annan

Majeed Ashimeru
