Various celebrities, including Diana Asamoah, Sidney, Samini, and Praye, were spotted at the official unveiling of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) vice-presidential candidate for the upcoming 2024 presidential elections: Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, widely known as NAPO.
The event, which took place at the Kumasi Jubilee Park in the Ashanti Region, was graced by various dignitaries from the political class, the clergy, and the entertainment sector.
Gospel musician Evangelist Diana Asamoah, who has been a proud supporter of the NPP, took to the main stage to perform some of her hit songs to the expectant crowd, and expressed her wishes to the NPP flagbearers.
She was followed by Hiplife artiste Sidney Kofi Ofori, aka Barima Sidney, who performed the official campaign songs for the NPP, to the delight of the audience.
Dancehall artiste Samini, rapper Guru, and Hiplife artiste Praye Tiatia also came on stage to greet the NPP candidates and the president, who was in attendance.
The announcement follows the party’s confirmation of NAPO as Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s selected running mate. The event took place at Kumasi Jubilee Park after the initial unveiling ceremony occured at the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi.
