Glo escapes last-minute shutdown over non payment of tax
GLO Ghana has survived a shutdown of its operations over a GHC10-Million tax default.
Officials from the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) were at the company’s premises for the shutdown exercise but pulled the plugs when the company’s officials presented a GHC 2 million cheque on the spot to defray part of their debt.
That instantaneous response momentarily calmed the shutdown taskforce but not without any form of warning to the Management of Glo Ghana.
Public Relations Officer for GRA, Kwasi Bobie, said his outfit accepted the cheque in good fate but have asked GLO’s management to go to the offices of GRA for a payment arrangement.
He added that failure on the part of Glo to heed the advice will force the GRA to shut Glo down on its live visit.
