Imo bye-election: Gov Uzodinma’s Aide,  Nwamkpa tasks electorates on voting

The Senior Special Assistant to Imo State Governor on Print Media and chieftain of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Mr. Nwamkpa Modestus, has advised electorates in Ngor-Okpala constituency of Imo who they should elect in coming Saturday’s House of Assembly bye-election in the State.
This was even as the members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Imo State, have accused the candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, Blyden Amajirionwu, of sponsoring thugs to attack the party campaign train at Ntu in Ngor Okpala Local Government Area of the state.
Recall that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), had fixed Feburary 26, 2022 for conduct of bye election into vacant seat of Ngor-Okpala state constituency of Imo State House of Assembly following alleged abscondment by the former occupant, Hon Tochi Okereke, who was elected on the platform of Peoples Democratic Party during 2019 general elections in Imo state.
In a statement by Governor Uzodinma’s Aide, Mr. Nwamkpa Modestus, and  forwarded to DAILY POST on Wednesday, posited that at this critical time, people of Ngor-Okpala state constituency needed a thorough bred representative who is fully resident in Imo and is not involved in any inappropriate life style or inexplicable source of income or does business that has the likelihood of pitching him against the law.
According to him, “Ngor-okpala people need an experienced, vocal, well known above all somebody from the ruling party because, that will be a great advantage. And this is where Hon Biyden Amajirionwu fits into the hole.
“Before now, somebody or some persons even outside the LGA have claimed to having the remote control of Ngor Okpala where he can change the political channel of the LGA. So, ndi Ngor Okpala seriously need to take a break from the old order and prove to these external political aggressors that enough is enough and that they can take their destiny into their hands. In the past, they have used the Local government area together their political nest even tonight extent of marginalizing the LGA in the House of Representatives against the wish of the people”.
Nwamkpa further pointed out that for the past 20 years, Ngor-Okpala has voted for a particular party, regretting that party has nothing to show for it because it have been applying the same formula repeatedly and thus getting the same answer.
“So, they now have a golden opportunity to try another formula by giving Blyden Amajirionwu their mandate this time around. They should try his party and see whether there won’t be a difference. Ngor Okpala deserves the best and they need to break away from the past. They need a change and Blyden, I am sure will deliver the goods.
Continuing, he opined, “Blyden has been around in Ngor Okpala affairs and will not find it difficult to navigate. He understands the needs and problems of the LGA because he has also been part of the LGA. The truth is that amongst the candidates in this election, Blyden is the best in terms of understanding the business of politics and has the better skills to lobby and get things for Ngor Okpala people if and when elected. He is poles apart from the rest of the candidates who will struggle to settle down to work because they are green horns. Nobody knows them.
“If Blyden is elected, he is sure of getting all the necessary support from both the state Governor and the House leadership which is not likely with other candidates. I think Ngor Okpala people really need to be a bit circumspect this time around while going to the poll on Saturday. They should not repeat the mistakes of the past. They should first demand from the PDP an explanation on the whereabout of the former member and until and unless that explanation is sufficiently given, the party has no moral grounds to demand for another mandate.
“Let Ngor Okpala people consider Blyden Amajirionwu. I can vouch that he will do well because I have interacted with him and I know the passion he has for his Ngor Okpala people. Therefore, he needs to be encouraged and supported to represent the LGA at the house of Assembly. He is a right choice and will be a soothing balm to apply on the wound which is inflicted on the body of the LGA by the absconded former member, Mr Tochi Okereke”, Nwamkpa submitted.
