Ashanti boss of NSS seizes certificates of two people for calling him a thief
NSS Ashanti Regional boss withholds the two certificates of individuals who he says accused him of theft.
The Ashanti Regional director of the National Service Secretariat (NSS), Alex Opoku-Mensah has withheld the certificates of immediate two ex-service individuals whom he claims accused him of theft.
According to the reporting of Mynewsgh.com, the regional boss says he will only release the certificates when his accusers give evidence to back their claims of embezzlement against him’
Until then, Opoku-Mensah says he will ensure they are denied their NSS certificates as punishment.
The accusation of from the two individuals involves the suspicion that Opoku-Mensah took monies from the Service Personnel Association as his ex-gratia.
He is quoted as saying: “I want to tell the two outgone NASPA presidents at Kumawu and Bosome Freho they should not dare come to my office for their certificates”.
“They will see how they will get their certificates from me. I will deny them forever as their punishment for their unnecessary allegations against me”.
According to a press release by the aggrieved Personnel Association in the region, “Mr. Opoku Mensah, “OMENS”, diverted a whopping amount of money supposed to be used for programs and projects into personal accounts calling it ex-gratia”.
The statement continued that the expected programmes did not see the light of day.
The issue has generated a lot of talk in the Ashanti Region and no solution seems to be in sight.
