Kintampo wee toffee ladies arrested

 

The Kintampo Divisional Police Command in the Brong Ahafo Region has arrested two women for allegedly possessing and dealing in substances suspected to be Indian Hemp.

The suspects one Jennifer, 18 and Ruth Ali, 19, admitted to the offence upon interrogation by the police.

“Customers in the area and beyond come to purchase our toffees since they make them ‘high.’ The customers told us that the toffees help them go about their day to day activities, the suspects told the police.

The suspects indicated that students in second cycle institutions mostly purchase the products to help them to study at night.

Police told DAILY GUIDE that Jenifer and Ruth admitted that they were aware of the consequences of their action.

They have since been detained at the Kintampo Police Station to assist in police investigations.

The exhibit have also been labeled and kept in the custody of the police pending further investigations.

Chief Inspector Augustine Kingsely Oppong, BA Regional police spokesman, told DAILY GUIDE that the women would be charged with possession of narcotics without lawful authority and arraigned before court.
