The opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) is reported to have detailed out, at it’s very recent meeting meant to discuss and adopt recommendations from detailed reports from what the party described as its “hardworking and industrious” research team, the challenges the party is facing which appears to be “attacking and thwarting” the party’s “rescue mission”, in its attempt to seek reelection in the upcoming December polls.

Speaking to our reporter at the party’s Adabraka headquarters on condition of anonymity, a leading member of the opposition NDC, who played key roles in the Provisional National Defence Council (PNDC) explained that “our (NDC) failure to address the issues raised by the Professor Kwesi Botwe committee regarding how the party failed in taming Dr Mahamadu Bawumia seems to be starring as at in the face. Indeed, he got away with so many things then in 2016 when we had an economist as vice President, Amissah Arthur of blessed memories. Yet this time around, we seem to have squandered the opportunity of appointing a strong force as a running mate, who could have matched the NPP vice President. However, that is not to discredit our learned Professor Naana Opoku Agyemang. Indeed, the party admires the energy she has brought into the front.”

” But, frankly, considering the current situation of this government borrowing over $140billion, how have we been able to breakdown and communicate the effects to the laymen and citizens who live on hand to mouth? In Cape coast, after Dr Bawumia had explained the rebasement strategy for the loans on one Eagle FM, as mentioned in reports from the research team, it seems to have taken the juicy flavours out of the meal which we intended to serve the laymen. Our flagbearer, President Mahama, is doing his best to mentioning it and it seems, it is not getting the responses we are expecting, this is the report, refer to the feedback section.”

The other bit of difficulty we, the NDC are having in this very recent time which seems a strategy working for President Akufo-Addo, as implicit from the reports appears to be NDC’s inability to checkmate, manage and tackle that magnetic influence, the former General secretary of NPP who was suspended from office, has on the core NPP members who repute him with good conduct after his suspension, including the many disgruntled, disenchanted members of the NPP especially the independent candidates and in its strongest hold Ashanti Region. Also in Northern, western and the Bono enclaves . Yes, I mean Kwabena Agyepong.”

The source observed further that, “the NDC, until the aftermath of two quarterly reports from our research team, disclosed a positive outlook for NDC and our candidate Mahama in Ashanti Region, western and BA. It still looks promising however let me be Frank, not as what the case was in the two earlier reports. You know what, the experiences Kwabena has had, since the hey days, having been excessively self assertive in the inside of pre and post 1992 Ghanaian politics, credits him as an overwhelming political force to keen political observers. You know what I mean. This is someone who has been avoided by his government, but surprisingly he finds a positive energy to serve his party, just like ideally, a firm and unyielding NPP loyalist. His conduct seems appealing to some sections of Ghanaians who are apolitical. It seems from the reports that, we ought to manage that and that of Dr Bawumia who has been a very good apprentice on the political front, which seems to bolster a positive impact on the Akufo-Addo campaign particularly, up in the Northern parts of Ghana.

When asked whether it was too late a time for the NDC, the source responded “No , we still have time, In politics a day can do a lot of good or bad to your chances. ”

Ghana will on December 7th, 2020 go to polls to elect the next President and parliament. While the NPP and President Akufo-Addo is touting on its records, the NDC and former President Mahama is also calling to rescue Ghanaians.
