Fire has gutted two shops at the Kumasi Central Market in the Ashanti Region.

The stores got burnt in the early hours of Monday, 20 August 2018 at about 6:30AM.

An eyewitness who spoke to Adehye FM’s Elisha Adarkwah, said the fire started from a cold store and spread to a provision store.

Properties lost to the fire include refrigerators, gallons of cooking oil, rice, canned tomatoes, and beverages, among others.

It took the intervention of some traders to douse the flames and prevent the fire from further spreading.
