The Ghana Police Service, in collaboration with the National Signals Bureau (NSB) and the Nigeria Police Force, has rescued two female kidnap victims following a viral video that drew public attention.

One of the victims has been identified as Ama Serwaa Konadu, a 39-year-old hairdresser and event decorator from Asiakwa in the Abuakwa South Municipality of the Eastern Region.
She was reportedly abducted on Tuesday, April 22, after leaving home for work.
Following her disappearance, a disturbing video surfaced online showing her being assaulted while her abductors, who claimed she was being held in Nigeria, demanded a ransom of GH₵500,000 for her release.
The victim’s family quickly reported the matter to the police and other relevant security agencies, providing the video to aid investigations.
In a statement, the Ghana Police Service confirmed that the suspects were arrested from hideouts in both Ghana and Nigeria.
The Police assured the public that additional details surrounding the rescue operation will be disclosed as investigations progress.
