3 ‘killer’ cops who butchered Adonfe driver interdicted

The Ashanti Regional Police Command has interdicted three police officers for manhandling and butchering a civilian driver at Adonfe on Tuesday, 15 October 2019.

They have been handed over to the Police Intelligence and Professional Standard Bureau for investigation.

A statement from the police Command said it has recommended, as part of the investigation, “the interdiction of three officers, namely General Sergeant Suleman Seidu, General Corporal Seth Agbango and General Lance Corporal Salifu Yakubu”.

The Command said: “In all nine officers embarked on the operation but three of the officers have been implicated having taken active part in the incident, hence their interdiction”.

“The Command has also tasked the Regional Police Professional Standards Bureau (PPSB) to also institute an internal administrative investigation into the conduct of the officers and report,” a statement from the police said.

The officers restrained the victim on the ground while they punched and kicked him mercilessly. They also inflicted machete wounds on him. It all followed a misunderstanding between the officers and the now-deceased man.
