The ex-House of Representatives Candidate for Ukwa East and Ukwa West Federal constituency of Abia state during last 2019 general election in the country, Hon Ejikeme Alozie-Nwaogboso, has lamented that Abia has been on a very downward spiral over the past years, and that required a shift from lack of transparency to accountability, cheating of the governed to empathizing with them, high level of Corruption to payment of salaries, poor healthcare and provision to improved health Infrastructure.
He also maintained that Abia currently is in dire need of a shift from overbloated government, and to a more prudent management of resources, and wanton political appointments to a focus on improved economic gateways for the people, reminding the citizens from the state that the duty lied on them to start reshaping the state, and such steps, must begin in next election cycle.
Alozie-Nwaogboso who was making his feelings known during an interview with journalists on Monday, while evaluating candidates of different politcal parties jostling various elective positions in the fast approaching 2023 general election in Abia, and many other states in the Nigeria federation.
Continuing, the Abia chieftain posited that having looked at the candidates in the gubernatorial race, i have noticed, alongside like-minds and a good number of my followers that Engr Enyinnaya Nwafor of the Young Progressive Party (YPP), stands out amongst the candidates, hinging his stand on the capacities and outstanding expertises of the YPP governorship standard-bearer in the state.
According to Alozie-Nwaogboso, “he is more pro-business, an economic prosperity advocate, understanding of the younger people’s needs, and more solution-driven to our many problems. No candidate is a saint. None of us, is. But Nwafor is a shoulder ahead the rest. We have to collectively support the best.
“He is different and should be considered the most suitable, at this time, out of the candidates. I am not a member of the YPP, but he’s the man for the job, in my estimation. Brilliant, middle-aged, energetic, creative, collaborative, and a good manager of resources”, he added.
He further reiterated his position that the current mood of the populaces in Abia state is for a leader who can guide all state agencies rightly and understands their critical need to resuscitate the dying state, and also, strives for improvement, challenges himself, and has an enquiring mind, maintaining that Engr. Enyinnaya Nwafor measures up to these characteristics.
“I wholeheartedly endorse Engr Enyinnaya Nwafor for the Governor of Abia State, come 2023”, the Abia-born technocrat submitted.
