2018 AWCON: Young Ghanaian Police lady named among 26 referees for tourney

The enterprising Police officer, Juliet Appiah, will be one of the 12 centre referees for the 2018 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations to be hosted here in Ghana.

The young official was selected to undergo the technical training, theory and physical practice at a CAF organised course in Winneba last month.

In February 2018, Appiah became the first person in the Ghana Police Service to be awarded a FIFA refereeing license.

CAF also selected 12 assistant referees but there was no Ghanaian on the list.

Below are the officials selected for the tourney which is set to commence on November 17 to December 1.

Josiane Mbakop Nfongan (Cameroon), Kassonoux Akoua Denis (Cote d’Ivoire), Kanjinga Mireille Mujanayi (DR Cong), Mona Mahmoud Atallah (Egypt), Mary Njoroge (Kenya)
