He is fondly remembered for his unique sense of humour, unifying presence, and iconic status as a symbol of peace, with a calm and peaceful demeanour. He is also celebrated for his strong sense of duty, having served Ghana and its people with dedication and integrity.

His legacy continues to inspire and influence Ghanaian politics and society, remembered fondly by many, including former Vice President John Dramani Mahama and NPP stalwart Kwame Pianim, who describe him as a man who transcended political divides.

Speaking with Ghanaweb TV, some Ghanaians described him as an “icon of peace”, praising his calm and peaceful nature, which earned him the affectionate title “Asomdwehene” (King of Peace) and for being one of the finest presidents Ghana has ever had.
