You had money to buy cars but blame Akufo-Addo for not building your church – Badu Kobi blasts Owusu-Bempah

Owusu-Bempah had alleged that Akufo-Addo promised to build a church for him but failed to fulfill this promise before leaving office.

This claim has sparked reactions, with Badu Kobi condemning Owusu-Bempah’s remarks as shameful and unbecoming of a man of God.

During a sermon on Sunday, February 23, 2025, Badu Kobi did not hold back in his rebuke of Owusu-Bempah, questioning why a pastor would rely on a politician to construct a church building.

“God told me what he told me in 2016, so, I stood where I stood, and I was wiser than those people who were saying Ghana will have a Kalypo. Now, they are coming back to say they were scammed. They scammed your family,” Badu Kobi stated.

He further questioned Owusu-Bempah’s reliance on a political leader to build an auditorium for his ministry, labeling it as disgraceful.

“You were waiting for a political party to build an auditorium for you? What kind of man of God are you? Cheap man! What a shame to even let this come from your mouth. No president helped me; I built my auditorium. No president helped other men of God; they built their auditoriums. But only you, you want a president to build your auditorium? Disgraceful man!” he lashed him out.

Badu Kobi also accused Owusu-Bempah of misusing his financial resources, stating that he had enough funds to buy luxury cars but failed to invest in constructing his church building.

“You are getting money, buying cars, but you won’t build an auditorium, waiting for a politician to build it for you,” he added.

Meanwhile, Owusu-Bempah, during his statements against Akufo-Addo, later clarified that his accusations were made in a lighthearted manner and should not be taken seriously.
