Rev. Owusu-Bempah warns Mensa Otabil
The Founder and Leader of the Glorious Word Power Ministries International, Rev. Isaac Owusu-Bempah, has warned Pastor Mensa Otabil, the founder and leader of the International Central Gospel Church (ICGC), over his utterances on the gospel.
According to Owusu-Bempah, he does not agree with Mensa Otabil’s claim that God does not reveal mysteries to humans any longer.
Speaking to his congregation prior to the 2024 general elections in November regarding pastors who were predicting the outcome of the election and claiming it was a prophecy from God, Mensa Otabil argued, “They believe they are preaching mystery that God only revealed to them.
“But I sympathize with their ignorance, God is not revealing mysteries to anybody again, and I will say it again, God is not revealing mysteries to anybody, and God is not speaking by revelation to anybody. God’s revelation is closed.
“He is not adding revelation; He is not subtracting revelation. It is closed; it is called the canon of scripture.”
Reacting to the preacher’s comment, Owusu-Bempah asserted that Otabil’s arguments lack substance.
He argued that God still speaks and reveals hidden secrets to mankind.
Speaking to his congregation on Sunday, February 1, 2025, he stated, “In fact, I have realized that most Christians are villagers in the spiritual realms; they don’t understand petty spiritual stuff.
“I am saying this because last week when I was speaking, I spoke about candles, and it generated debate among people. So, if you lack understanding of the gospel, how can God use you for his work?
“I want to give you examples that prove that a certain caliber of Christians are villagers. Even a pastor is saying nowadays God does not speak to people. How? Does God speak to animals?” he questioned.
The man of God continued, “But in your church, you have opened a branch for a prophet to lead the church. For him, you believe that he hears the voice of God, Dr. Mensa Otabil.
“There are certain people we respect as men of God and as leaders of the faith, but we don’t agree with some of their utterances.
“Prophet Annoh is a pastor in your church; you have opened a branch for him, but you are saying God does not speak to human beings. What are you talking about?” he fumed.
He added “Does God speak to animals? You are a Bible teacher, and we respect you as a leader of the faith, but you cannot bring anybody’s ministry down because the person is a prophet who hears from God. You want to portray that he doesn’t have any connection with God.
“So, what he is saying means that if you are a prophet, it is not God who is speaking to you.”
