World leaders storm Ghana for John Mahama’s inauguration

The eyes of the world will be on Ghana this Tuesday, January 7, 2025, as dignitaries from around the globe gather at Black Star Square to witness the swearing-in of President-Elect John Dramani Mahama.

Felix Kwakye Ofosu, spokesperson for the NDC Transition Team, highlighted the significance of the event, noting the presence of international representatives from the Commonwealth, the African Development Bank, and other global organizations.

“This is a very historic occasion because not only will a former president be returning to the presidency, but we will also have the first-ever female Vice President, following a historic mandate from the good people of Ghana,” Ofosu stated, underscoring the monumental significance of the day during a press conference on January 4, 2025.

Security arrangements are being reinforced, with strict access protocols in place to ensure the safety of dignitaries and guests. Designated seating areas have been carefully planned.

The Swearing-In Area will host the key proceedings, while the Ministries Area Stand will accommodate high-profile attendees, including outgoing President Nana Akufo-Addo, visiting Heads of State, and Vice Presidents.
