Woman threatens to commit suicide after her savings hidden in a bush was stolen

A 68 years old woman has threatened to kill herself at Mankessim in the Mfantseman Municipality of the Central Region after an amount of GHC1,000 she saved in a bush after her daily business was stolen.

According to Maame Abena Mansa, she always hides her money in a bush after returning from work each day to prevent her grandchildren who she claims are thieves from stealing her money.

“I always keep my money in a bush instead of keeping it in my room because of my grandchildren. I hid the money in the bush at the back of my house as I do every day. But not knowing somebody had been watching me. I woke up early in the morning only to see that the money had been stolen from where I kept it.”

“I will kill myself if I don’t find this money I use to run my business because I am owing people. Where will I get the money to pay them? It’s better I kill myself than to be alive and have people chasing me for their monies and disgracing me,” the inconsolable old woman told Kasapa FM News Yaw Boagyan.

A report has been filed with the police who have since commenced investigations into the matter.
