GRA shuts down Metro TV again

The Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) has shut down Accra-based television station Metro TV, over failure to pay their taxes.

The closure of the TV station comes at a time the GRA has vowed to crack down on companies that have failed to fulfill their tax obligations.

Metro TV, according to GRA’s debt management and compliance enforcement unit has failed to perform its tax obligations and, thus owes government GHC2.3 million.

Assistant Commissioner in charge of Public Affairs at the GRA, Kwasi Bobie-Ansah said the GHC2.3m is the total sum of tax owed the GRA from 2014 to 2018.
