We had better management under Dr. KK Sarpong – GNPC staff eulogize former boss
Staff of the Ghana National Petroleum cooperation (GNPC) is singing praises to eulogize the former GNPC boss Dr.Kofi Kodua Sarpong for his prudent management during his time of office.
Some Senior Officers who have worked through the mill to attain higher positions are treated with gross disrespect from the current CEO Mr. Opoku Anhwere Danquah who has also been accused of misappropriation of funds few months in office as acting CEO.
The staff who have not seen this type abysmal performance under GNPC before refute claims and false publication by the current CEO of accusing his predecessor of misappropriation of funds when he himself has squandered over $100 million.
A petition cited published whatsupnews.com from “Concerned Staff” of the GNPC discredits his claim, citing him for incompetence and a limited understanding of corporate governance.
“…during the same onboarding week, the financial accounts he presented to staff all turned out to be false. For instance, while he falsely accused his predecessor to have misappropriated the Corporation’s Fund, he smartly concealed the 100 million USD funds the Corporation had received from Jubilee Holding Lifting in his financial report,” the petition from the concerned staff to GNPC’s Board Chairman read.“
In just few a weeks after assuming office as GNPC boss, the Ag. CEO appointed four special aides, who have higher responsibilities and authority than his General Managers and deputies have in GNPC… These aides now attend ExCom meetings and Entity Tender Committee meetings, which are quite unfortunate.
The aides have also been empowered to micro-manage some departments. This is not surprising because he is usually heard saying that he does not believe and will not adhere to the structure and policies of the Corporation approved by the Board,” the Concerned workers wrote.
