Watch viral video of Effutu voters swearing oaths after allegedly taking GH¢1k to vote for NPP

If you’re planning on taking money from any politician and voting against the person in the upcoming December 7, 2024, parliamentary and presidential election, you have to think twice.

Some politicians in the country have taken to the gods to ensure that every person who takes a penny from them for their votes would not vote for their opponents.

A viral video sighted by GhanaWeb shows some voters from the Effutu in the Central Region, swearing oaths after allegedly being given GH¢1000 to vote for the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP).

In the said video, the constituents could be seen taking turns to swear oaths that they would vote for the NPP in the upcoming election.

Most of the people who were captured in the video stated that they were members of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) or have voted for the party in previous elections but were this time around going to vote for the NPP.

They asked the gods to deal with them, as they poured libation if they failed to vote for the NPP and ‘honourable Alex’ in the elections.

“As for me, there is only one truth, I used to be a member of the NDC but I have voted for the NPP in the past. This year I’m going to vote for Honourable, if I don’t, deal with me as you please,” one woman swore.

“I have voted for the NPP in the past and now I’m a member of the NPP. I want Honour Alex to win the election and if I don’t vote for him, you may do as you please with me,” another man said.
