The political atmosphere in the country continues to rise as the country nears the December 7, 2024, general elections.
Some of the utterances of politicians in the course of their campaigns and media events have not helped matters much, with pockets of clashes between supporters of the two leading political parties, the National Democratic Congress and the New Patriotic Party (NPP), being seen at these events.
A viral video from a campaign event of the NPP in the Dome-Kwabenya Constituency has shown the sense of tolerance between supporters of the two leading parties that the country needs at this point.
As the NPP members were enjoying their campaign event, supporters of the NDC in a pickup truck drove through the road near the event, blaring the campaign song of their flagbearer, former President John Dramani Mahama.
The NPP supporters could be heard hooting, but that did not stop the NDC members from enjoying their music as they made gestures of change with their hands.
Some NPP supporters could be seen chasing the truck as they danced and poked fun at the NDC supporters.
The NPP supporters, who were in the branded t-shirts of their flagbearer, Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, and their parliamentary candidate for Dome-Kwabenya, Michael Oquaye Jnr, were not angered by the incident and could be seen smiling.
