Watch the inconsolable Pooley’s wife and children during one-week celebration

Following the stabbing to death of staunch Asante Kotoko fan, Francis Yaw Frimpong, also known as Pooley, families and sympathisers held a one-week celebration for him.

The ceremony, held in Kumasi, witnessed many prominent people from all walks of life sympathising with the bereaved family.

In a video shared on social media on February 16, 2025, the wife and children of the late Kotoko fan could not control their tears as they wailed, while others tried to console them.

The Asante Kotoko supporter was stabbed during Kotoko’s game against Nsoatreman FC on February 2, 2025.

According to a member of the Ghana Football Association’s (GFA) Safety and Security Committee, Saint Osei, some Asante Kotoko officials attested to the fact that Pooley was stabbed outside the stadium at the Nana Konamansah Park in Nsoatre.

Meanwhile, the Ghana Police Service has arrested six people in connection with the demise of Pooley to assist with the investigations.
