Watch the emotional moment Samuel Eto’o met with a former teammate now working as a security guard

Samuel Eto’o, President of the Cameroonian Football Federation (FECAFOOT), recently had a touching reunion with a former teammate who now works as a security guard.

The emotional encounter took place in Douala, where Eto’o, widely regarded as one of the greatest strikers of his generation, was attending an Ecobank Group seminar. While there, he came across his old friend, a man with whom he once shared the football pitch.

The two reminisced about their shared past, exchanging pleasantries and heartfelt words. During their conversation, Eto’o reportedly told his assistant to arrange a formal meeting with his former teammate, expressing joy at reconnecting with him.

Eto’o, a four-time African Player of the Year, enjoyed a stellar playing career with top European clubs such as Barcelona, Inter Milan, and Chelsea. He famously won the Champions League with Barcelona and achieved a historic treble the following season with Inter Milan.

Since retiring in 2019, Eto’o has remained a prominent figure in football. In December 2021, he was elected President of FECAFOOT, continuing his legacy of service to the sport in his home country.
