Minister for Communications, Digital Technology and Innovations Samuel Nartey George has attracted attention on social media after a video showed him dancing with his wife at a celebration following his admission to the Ghana Bar.
The Ningo-Prampram Member of Parliament joined other newly qualified lawyers at the 2026 Call to the Bar ceremony held on Friday, October 9, marking an important milestone in his professional journey.
Following the formal proceedings, Sam George and his wife attended a gathering where the minister was captured on video taking to the dance floor with her.
The clip, which circulated online, showed the couple sharing a light-hearted moment as they celebrated the occasion. The footage drew reactions from social media users, some of whom described the minister as the “latest Esq in town” in reference to his new legal qualification.
Sam George is widely known for his political career and his role in government, but his admission to the Bar adds another professional achievement to his public profile.
The minister serves as the Member of Parliament for Ningo-Prampram and heads the Ministry of Communications, Digital Technology and Innovations. His work in politics and public administration has kept him in the public spotlight, making the celebration a subject of interest beyond the legal profession.
The 2026 Call to the Bar ceremony reportedly saw 1,568 newly qualified lawyers formally admitted to practise law in Ghana. The event was held at the International Central Gospel Church’s Christ Temple on Teshie Bush Road in Accra.
Among the prominent personalities admitted to the Bar were Lands and Natural Resources Minister Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah and other individuals from public life who had completed the required legal training and professional assessments.
The ceremony marked the culmination of years of legal education and training for the newly admitted lawyers, allowing them to begin practising in accordance with Ghana’s legal requirements.
For Sam George, the occasion combined a formal professional milestone with a personal celebration alongside his wife and other guests.
The dancing video offered a glimpse of the celebrations after the ceremony, as the minister took time away from his official duties to mark the achievement with family and friends.
The moment has since added a lighter dimension to the news surrounding his admission to the Ghana Bar, with the phrase “latest Esq in town” becoming a playful reference to his new status as a lawyer.
