Watch how Sarkodie’s bodyguard shoved Edem during birthday party of businessman Nii-Armah Quaye

The 40th birthday celebration of businessman Richard Nii-Armah Quaye saw various performances from some of the country’s biggest artistes.

One major musician to grace the stage was Sarkodie, who entertained the guests at the Independence Square, which served as the event grounds on March 22, 2025.

However, a video making waves on social media showed a moment when fellow Ghanaian rapper Ayigbe Edem tried and failed to get the attention of Sarkodie during his performance.

As Sarkodie was making his way to the main stage to deliver his performance, Edem tried to get his attention, but Sarkodie’s bodyguards blocked him.

The incident, per the video in circulation, happened on the blindside of Sarkodie, who appeared focused on getting to the stage to entertain the revellers.

The video has sparked discussions, with some social media users defending the bodyguard’s actions, arguing that he was only doing his job.

Others suggest that Edem should have waited till after the performance to get Sarkodie’s attention.
