Watch how Neymar scored directly from a corner kick for Santos

In the 27th minute, he expertly curled the ball in from a corner kick on the left side, catching everyone off guard, including goalkeeper Igo Gabriel.

The ball struck the post before bouncing into the net, sending Neymar’s teammates and the crowd into a frenzy.

His spectacular goal, known as an “Olympico goal,” was a brilliant display of skill and creativity. Facing criticism from opposing fans, Neymar silenced them with his second goal contribution of the game.

The goal capped off a dominant first half for Santos. Tiquinho Soares opened the scoring before Neymar’s stunning strike, and Tiquinho later added another to seal a commanding 3-0 victory.

It was Neymar’s second goal in six appearances since returning to his boyhood club in January. He signed a six-month contract with Santos in an effort to regain his form after injuries limited him to just seven appearances for Al Hilal over 18 months.

The 33-year-old, who hasn’t played for Brazil since suffering an ACL injury in October 2023, is also eyeing a return to the national team for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers.
