Watch how heavy security was deployed at the Accra Sports Stadium for Ghana’s game against Chad

The Accra Sports Stadium was under tight security as Ghana faced Chad in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers on Friday, March 21, 2025.

In an attempt to curb any possible chaos, officers from the Ghana Police Service, Ghana Armed Forces and National Security were strategically deployed in and around the venue throughout the game.

This also enabled rigorous checks on the fans who trooped into the stadium to watch the Black Stars, amid recent concerns over stadium safety during local matches.

The heavy security deployed was not just outside the stadium, as officers were also seen inside, with some guarding the inner perimeter.

The Black Stars emphatically won 5-0 on the night, continuing their quest to secure a ticket to the 2026 World Cup.

The win extended head coach Otto Addo’s unbeaten record in World Cup qualifiers to five and placed the Black Stars at the top of the table with 12 points, two ahead of second-placed Madagascar.

Following their victory, the team will travel to Morocco to face Madagascar on Monday, March 24, 2025.
