Two first half goals and one in the second half was what Egyptian giants Zamalek dished out to Ghana’s Dreams FC to end the latter’s dream of a first continental final.

Dreams FC’s fairytale run in the CAF Confederation Cup ended on Sunday, April 28 at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.

The Still Believe lads lost 3-0 to the visitors in the second leg of their semi-final clash.

The Egyptians progressed to the final by a 3-0 aggregate after a 0-0 stalemate in the first leg of the tie.

Zamalek SC’s goals were scored by Hamza Mathlouthi in the 12th minute and Samson Akinyoola in the 27th minute. A third goal by Mostafa Shalaby in the 59th minute sealed the game.

Dreams were unbeaten at home in the competition, holding a record of three wins and a draw.

Dreams FC would have become the third Ghanaian side to qualify for the final joining Kumasi Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Oak who achieved the feat in 2004.
