WATCH: Highlights of Pope Francis’ final funeral rite and burial

The funeral rite, which took place at St. Peter’s Square, saw over a quarter of a million people from all walks of life in attendance.
Around 130 foreign delegations from various countries, including heads of state, were among the attendees at the late Pope’s burial Mass.
Notable world leaders present at the ceremony included the President of the United States, Donald Trump; the President of France, Emmanuel Macron; the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Keir Starmer; the Prime Minister of Italy, Giorgia Meloni; and the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
The solemn liturgy was presided over by Cardinal Giovanni Battista Re, the Dean of the College of Cardinals, who was joined by around 250 cardinals, patriarchs, archbishops, bishops, priests, and consecrated religious.
One of the most poignant moments of the event occurred when the patriarchs of the Eastern Catholic Churches rendered a heavenly chant to pay their last respects to the late Pope.
After the burial Mass, the late Pope’s mortal remains were driven to the Basilica of St. Mary Major, where he had personally chosen to be laid to rest.
