Watch highlights of Black Stars 5-0 win over Chad

Ghana came out firing from the start, with Antoine Semenyo opening the scoring in under two minutes.

The Bournemouth forward pounced on a rebound from close range after Mohammed Kudus’ initial shot was blocked.

Inaki Williams doubled the lead in the 32nd minute with a header from Kingsley Schindler’s cross. Just before halftime, Jordan Ayew made it 3-0 from the penalty spot after Semenyo was fouled.

The Black Stars put the game beyond reach when Mohammed Salisu extended the lead in the 56th minute, heading in a corner from Ernest Nuamah to make it 4-0.

After assisting Salisu, Nuamah sealed the emphatic victory with an exquisite finish from inside the box, following a sublime backheel pass from Jordan Ayew.

The dominant win propelled Ghana to the top of Group I with 12 points, putting them in a strong position for qualification.

The Black Stars will face second-placed Madagascar on matchday six of the qualifiers on Monday, March 24, 2025, in Morocco.
